The Greatest Showman - This Is Me [Official Lyric Video]

This is a song from the movie "The Greatest Showman." I haven't yet seen this movie, but this song was introduced to me through my REFIT® Family.  A lot of them have called it our anthem of 2018.
I'm not a stranger to the dark
"Hide away," they say
"Cause we don't want your broken parts"
I've learned to be ashamed of all my scars
"Run away," they say
"No one will love you as you are"

But I won't let them break me down to dust
I know that there's a place for us
For we are glorious

When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brace, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be, this is me
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me

Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh

Another round of bullets hits my skin
Well, fire away 'cause today, I won't let the shame sink in
We are bursting through the barricades
And reaching for the sun (we are warriors)
Yeah, that's what we've become

I won't let them break me down to dust
I know there's a place for us
For we are glorious!

When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be, this is me
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me

Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh
This is me

Oh-oh-oh-oh
And I know that I deserve your love
Oh-oh-oh-oh
'Cause there's nothing I'm not worthy of
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh

When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
This is brave, this is bruised
This is whom I'm meant to be, this is me

Look out 'cause here I come (look out 'cause here I come)
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum (marching on, marching, marching on)
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me
Whenever the words wanna cut me down
I'll send a flood to drown them out
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, this is me.
Songwriters: Justin Paul / Benj Pasek

I teach fitness classes with a company called REFIT® Revolution.  One of our biggest guidelines involves building community.  Making sure EVERYBODY feels welcomed.  All fitness levels are welcomed...it doesn't matter from where you came...it doesn't matter if you don't believe the way I do...EVERY BODY IS WELCOMED!

In our REFIT® community, this song has become an unofficial anthem song for us.  WE want those who are involved in our classes that they are glorious warriors.  And when the worlds words wanna cut them down, we'll send a flood to drown them out.

Now I see this song as an introduction for me to point those to our creator God who created each of us.  He designed us in the image of Him.  If we begin to cut each other down, we are actually hurting the very creation of God.  We should be building, encouraging, loving each other.

For the past four weeks, my pastor has spoken from I Corinthians 13.  Teaching us what love really is.  I know I was challenged because my love didn't look like that chapter.  Let us challenge ourselves to look at our lives and help us to love others...as God calls us to.

If I speak human or angelic languages but do not have love,
I am a sounding gone or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge,
and if I have all faith so I can move mountains but do not have love,
I am nothing.
And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor
and if I give my body in order to boast,
but do not have love I gain nothing.
Love is patient,
love is kind.
Love does not envy,
is not boastful,
is not conceited,
does not act improperly,
is not selfish,
is not provoked,
and does not keep a record of wrongs.
Love finds no joy in unrighteousness
but rejoices in the truth.
It bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.
Love never ends.
But as for prophecies, they will come to an end;
as for languages, they will cease;
as for knowledge, it will come to an end.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
But when the perfect comes, the partial will come to an end.
When I was a child, I spoke like a child,
I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man, I put aside childish things.
For now we see indistinctly, as in a mirror,
but then face to face.
Now I know in part, but then I will know fully,
as I am fully known.
Now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.
